Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust Durrell 2012

I actually don't know offhand how many birds we have! I'll speak to the project head tomorrow and let you know. We did breed one chick this year, but sadly we lost it. It's proving to be very complex, but the soft release is likely to go ahead as planned early next year.

Thankyou.:)

I came across the 'Chough blog' about the intended release and the birds that will be used in that. But I am still not quite sure exactly how many Choughs Jersey now has in total, the age breakdown and if they all came from Paradise Park which I presume to be the case.

They are indeed Paradise Park choughs... except one Italian rescue bird, but she's a different subspecies, so breeding is being avoided with her. Lovely birds to watch and listen to.

I have some nice images of the release site, very rugged cliff terrain. It will be nice to see them wheeling around, all going to plan!
