Dutch zoo guides

I noticed in the aquatic section the poecilia reticulata isn't there. I could ofcourse understand if you left them out by choice

Indeed I left the guppies out. For the same reason I left out the giant millipedes, flower beetles, leeches and stingerless bees (and the bumblebee millipedes in Mangrove). They are as good as invisible. Even more difficult to spot than the "basically impossible" creatures

Makes sense, as these haven't been in the hall since many years (just as there are no leeches kept).

Alright. While Jurassicmax is helping me with species lists for Artis, I'm going to be doing my own research into Beekse Bergen this weekend. So those two are what I'm going to be working on after I finish my last two cards for Pakawi, I'll be busy with those for a while and hopefully, in that time, some Belgian people will go to Pairi and Antwerp to take inventory there.

If anyone knows if any of the Beekse Bergen aviaries have specific names, please let me know!

I'll be posting the species list that I found/saw signed in Beekse bergen. But if anyone knows of any unsigned species (I'll also be asking some keepers), please send a message!

Well, I barely needed to ask a keeper. As I managed to see all the species signed and there weren't any species I saw that was unsigned. The only problem is that I didn't see a single bird in the crocodile hall, there also weren't any species signed as free-roaming. Does anyone know if there are still free-roamers there?

I don't know if there are any birds in there at the moment. According to Zootierliste, there should still be at least one species of bird there, although it has not been seen since 2019. It is the chestnut-and-black weaver (Ploceus nigerrimus). Other species that have been there as far as I know are:

Superb starling (Lamprotornis superbus)
Lilac-breasted roller (Coracias caudatus)
Speckled mousebird (Colius striatus)
Village weaver (Ploceus cucullatus)

Well, with the 100.000 animal house having 21 different species, all of which need new maps drawn it is taking a little while

Decided to just not bother with the maps

I'm not 100% sure about the inverts being accurate, as Amersfoort's mail system is a gigantic pain in the ass and they won't answer anything

Beekse Bergen's map doesn't have a lot of variation, so the mini-maps aren't much of a help. But oh well

New record on Zoo Guides! I made guides for Aquazoo Leeuwarden in one day!

I sent a message to @MennoPebesma asking if he could help with Aquazoo, and he responded within 15 minutes with a full species list and a layout to the insoide house! He's a freaking hero!

Anyway, Aquazoo has mainly mini-guides. With only the insoide house and Asian aviary being truly guide-worthy. But I still made some for the ones I though might be useful!
