A quick behind-the-scenes look to show you why I really hate some species (in this case, the Barn owl), and why I'm really happy wikipedia usually uses the same map as I do. The IUCN website has proper distribution maps for almost all species, but with the huge disadvantage of it using a different type of map:

The IUCN map is more accurate, but also nearly impossible to trace
This is also exactly why I had a lot of difficulty with Antwerp's bird house, as almost none of the birds had distributions available in the correct map style

Now it's only the three tropical halls left, which need 17 new guides in total. Should be out next week somewhere, then I'm uploading the updated Burgers' zoo guides and then moving on to Wildlands. At some point I'll get around to about half of Pairi Daiza with help of KevinB

Avifauna - Philippine hall
The white-eared brown doves are actually the only animals I didn't see on my visit

Fun fact: I made the updated BZ guides first and had the river turtles finished from that, but you're seeing them on these guides before you see them on the BZ guides
Avifauna - Equator hall
The equator hall acts as a surplus holding, so it won't be accurate for long
I also wanted to make a guide for the great pond area, where there's usually a lot of free-roaming birds (Demoiselle crane, Red-breasted goose, etc) but during my visit they were all behind the scenes because of bird flu. I'll see what I can do next year, but if bird flu comes back or even becomes permanent, I won't be able to make it

The last horseshoe crab is still present, but I doubt they'll survive for more than three weeks. Last time I saw them they had barely moved in 20 minutes

The Wildlands guides are as good as finished, but I'm waiting until the 4th of October for the new monkey island to open (so that I can give it the proper name). It will probably take a little longer than that too, because I'm planning to give it a little something extra (you'll see what I mean when I upload them)
In the meantime I'll be making Overloon and if that's done early, I'll continue Pairi Daiza

Wildlands took a little while, as I mentioned. But they're finally done! With Wildlands' heavy theming I really wanted to make them a little extra. But not everyone was a big fan of the heavy texturing. So I made three different versions: a Common guide, a Lettering guide, and a Textured guide.
Let's get into it!

A thanks to Joost from Laafsekikkers for providing species lists, layouts and pictures of the signs!
(And a small thanks to Baoksy on reddit for editing the shadows and leaves out of the pictures)
These guides might've been some of the most difficult ones so far, partially because of the amount of species and the design/layout of the textured versions, but mostly from having to learn some basic programming to steal Wildlands' font right off the front page their website
(I'm kidding but also kind of not)

Alright then, Overloon is coming out today, as well as one or two more Pairi Daiza cards. After that I won't have my laptop for a little while and I'm going to visit a few zoos (Hopefully I'll be able to visit Dierenrijk and get a species list)
After that I'm finished PD and hopefully make quick work of Monde Sauvage, then I'll hopefully visit Hoenderdaell at some point and make guides for that. Then it's just Orchideeënhoeve left I think
