Dutch zoo guides

Aaaaaaaaaaand even more corrections because the first two weren't enough apparently.

The Temmicks bristlenose was apparently another wrongly signed animal. Also apparently I didn't double-check my old squirrel monkey map

Sadly, the Puna aviary was closed so I wasn't able to get a list for this beautiful aviary.

With the aviary recently reopened, I was able to visit it during my visit yesterday. If you still want to do a guide for it, here is a list for the Puna aviary:
  • Ruddy duck
  • Puna teal
  • White-cheeked pintail
  • North American wood duck
  • Puna ibis
  • Scarlet ibis
  • Black-faced ibis
  • Roseate spoonbill
  • Chaco chachalaca
  • Blue-throated piping guan
  • Grey-winged trumpeter

Thanks! I read about the opening a week after my visit and was quite annoyed.

I won't be able to make the guide (or rather, I won't be able to upload the guide) for at least another week, but I'll get it out as soon as I can!

Did the aviary not also had Picazuro pigeons ? They were atleast last year there

I'm afraid I might have missed one or more signs in the aviary.

ZTL says the Picazuro pigeons were still kept at GaiaZoo in March of this year, but were held in the aviary near the Pampas lodge in 2022 (that aviary held monk parakeets earlier this week).

I'm not sure how to fix this... I'm really sorry for the confusion...

The Puna aviary held Picazuro pigeons at some point but hey, changes happen all the time. It is a zoo after all. If they were held separately for a short while that's probably for a reason

I would have loved to do one for the car Safari, but for some stupid reason Beekse Bergen decided to remove the bus safari, and you can't exactly enter the drive-though with a bike.

The Elephant valley will be coming out a month or two later, since it's still in the introduction phase and more animals are set to be added

I went to the Beekse Bergen this week and did the car safari, I could give you a species list if you want one.

Wow, you can't even see the new and extra detailed nile croc map. Guess this is a good chance to once again remind you all that you can always send me a private message asking for a high-quality version of the guides

Note: The car safari also goes through Beke Se Bereke and past the Floodplain.

DAMN, some of these distributions were difficult to figure out

Thanks to KevinB for helping me with the car safari species list

In July I also saw the one remaining Japanese sika deer (kept in the Asian paddock, just as the axis deer and antelopes it has acces to both Banteng and Camel/Przewalski sections). There should also be one Mesopotamic fallow deer left in the mix there according to one of the park staff.
