Dutch zoo guides

Avifauna - Equator hall (Third tropical hall)

And of course, I'm just too late to edit or delete...

Avifauna - Equator hall (Third tropical hall) (Correct version)

The signage in Avifauna's tropical hall is terrible, so the guides were based on observation, apparently there's three starlings I simply missed...

Here's a little fun fact about what I'm currently doing:

I've started the incredibly tedious task of cataloging and organizing the zoo guides, so that I don't accidentally remake maps or search for pictures (something I've been doing more and more recently, whoops) and to make it easier for me to find which guides have the animal I might need.

I'm halfway through Pairi Daiza at the moment (So still 5 to go) and just...

Look at the amount of fish.

There's so many the image quality is barely allowing you to read the words...

We've got 51 primate maps already.

I really thought the birds would be taking up the most space but no... It's just fish and monkeys.

I'm just terrified of the moment I decide to start taking note of all the animal cutouts in the Burgers' Zoo project and Wetlands park... But hey, at least I'll finally be able to publish a full list of my animal cutouts, should be a great resource for the Fantasy zoo community

I thought that 'Dutch Zoo Guides' was the nearest thread for people interested in 'Dutch zoo guides', as the auctions are based in the Netherlands

This thread is for me to post my homemade infographics highlighting free-roaming species in Aviaries, Greenhouses and themed regions within Dutch zoos for free. Links to an Artis-themed auction might be better off in the Artis thread.

I noticed there are quite a few zoos that haven't had a proper update in a while. Burgers' zoo actually has been updated for quite a while, in a completely new style no less. I haven't visited in a little while though (not a fan of winter) so I'm going to wait until I've visited and double-checked to upload. Amersfoort is also close to getting an update, now that I've finally managed to identify the Malawi cichlids present in the dwarf croc enclosure.

Blijdorp has gone a good two years without an update. I was there last week so I'm working on updating the guides now. I'm probably going for a second visit after spring break to double-check some birds that I may have missed.

Apenheul will of course get an update once they open again, other zoos on the waiting list are Zie-Zoo (another one desperately needed), Ouwehands and Aquazoo, for which I'm waiting on the new regions set to be finished this year.

Finally there are the zoos that I don't visit too often, for which help is greatly appreciated. I can hopefully still depend on JurassicMax for an Artis species list. Other than that I'd very much appreciate help with Dierenrijk and Overloon.

Sorry for letting the DZG stagnate for a bit. But 2024 will be the year of updates!

Now I'd appreciate your feedback:

What looks better for the updated puffin map. Breeding colonies only or Seafaring range included?

Well, it took me a bit but I'm back!

I did a few rounds of multiple zoos, but unfortunately most of them required some waiting. I'm working on new maps for Burgers', Ouwehands has quite a few "temporarily empty" enclosures, and I was told Blijdorp is a bit unstable with some switch-arounds so that's also on hold. Luckily, Amersfoort doesn't change a lot, and is perfect for an update!
