On May 16th, the zoo announced they are in the process of making a mixed species exhibit for white-tailed deer and North American porcupines. On July 4th, the zoo announced that it opened to the public.
Today, The zoo announced that Caesar the barred owl passed away today. They will also be moving Wonka the bald eagle inside and he will not be on display because of his old age. He will be staying in a reserved section for eagles. The aviary of Wonka will be the home for Hemlock, the barred owl. Hemlock was found in distress in the wild as a juvenile in 2017 and he was taken care of by rehabilitation in the United States. He wasn't able to go back to the wild so Ecomuseum took him.
