Edinburgh Zoo edinburgh zoos sealions

With the zoo finding funding hsard to come by for the Sea Lions I am not 100% confident they will be able to find the funds to keep the Gaint Panda's at the zoo either as funding is very tight these days

Hopefully funding for the giant pandas will come from private sponsorship, unfortunately as we all know we are not exactly living in good financial times at the moment.

I don't think the problems with the Sealions will have any bearing on the display of Giant Pandas. Two entirely seperate issues and the Zoo will treat them as such. The Pandas are bound to take priority anyway, its just the way it goes...:).

I agree and I have to say that it isn't a great loss for the zoo if it happens. The sealion enclosure would be better for otters or even ducks, it isn't like the zoo would be losing a great exhibit.

Although I would be sad to see the animals themselves go I do feel that this enclosure has come to the end of its time and as the zoo has other, expensive, commitments at the moment it would make a great deal of sense to give up on this species for a while until they are in a better postion to make a better show of them.

seems quite the thing to do at the moment, i think this is the third (possibly) zoo to go out of sea-lions recently
