Bactrian camel calf, Guimauve, had to be put down. He fought hard for 2 months but in the end they just couldnt pull him through. No word on the cause of death but it seems to have been a struggle from birth for him. I really feel for his team because they were bottle raising him and thus even closer then with most other calves.

Passing last month was also Arctic wolf female, Shilah. She was 15 and age related ailments were the problem.

On September 27th, the zoo announced that their (1.0) snow leopard named Kaash passed away due to gastrointestinal issues.

On October 14th, the zoo announced that their carousel has reopened to the public under the new name Conservation Carousel, and is now open year-round.

On March 7th, the zoo announced that their (1.0) green iguana named Stella passed away at age 18.

On May 6th, it was announced that the zoo acquired a (1.0) Goeldi's monkey named Eugene from Zoo de Granby in Quebec.

On February 22nd, the zoo announced that they acquired a (0.1) Great Basin gopher snake named Edna from the BC Wildlife Park in British Columbia which is now on display in the Reptile Wing of the Saito Centre.

On April 23rd, it was announced that the zoo transferred a (1.0) American white pelican named Woodhouse to the Greater Vancouver Zoo in British Columbia.
