- Dark-shouldered snake eel (Ophichthus cephalozona)
- Blotched snake-eel (Ophichthus erabo)

- Longbill snake eel (Ophisurus macrorhynchos)
- Japanese highfin snake eel (Pisoodonophis zophistius)

I have not sorted all photos yet, this is it so far. If we really take the word eel to a different level, than it's worth mentioning that Japan has the only Vari's electric eel (Electrophorus varii) known in a public aquarium.

One interesting place to see European eel in Prague is a bank foyer in historic central part, address is Spálená street no. 14/76. It lives in small water fontain in a pipe. This space is accessible for public (at least it was so in 2019).

It has an eel called Pepa since 1914. The first fish lived there for 62 years, after his/her death they now have a second one.

Oddest eel exhibit I've ever heard of, that's for sure. Is there a historical aspect to this unusual setup?

No, not really. That house was built in 1907-1909 as a main office of a local insurance company. They asked for "luxurious feel" and the architect sold them a lot of artistic details, including wall paintings, vitrage in windows, neobaroko staiways and also this fountain. Later, an employee brought a small eel he caught in Vltava river. And kept it there as a pet. And after him, other employees continue to care for the fish.
