No otters - no problems.

I 've meant that small animals need small exhibit. And I'm interested in training, ASCO looks like better option.
 
The only Czech zoo I know that announced interest in obtaining aardvarks is Dvur Kralove.
 
Eve is quite shy when being outside, doesn't spend much time there, and began to cover herself again with green 'grass' mat when indoors (after giving up the habit a month ago).
I hope that another hippo arrives this year (female from Portugal, nearly same age), but this is quite unclear.
Aardvarks moved to outdoor exhibits.

The cubs' gender is checked, both are females.
One already designated to circus and will join her siblings from previous litters in the show.
 
Our young male aardvark (one from 2014-born twins) was transferred to private zoo 'Limpopo' in Nizhny Novgorod, to form a pair with wild-caught female.

I wonder why are there almost no new comments in the gallery?
This zoo is the only Russian one here that gets regular updates, but lack of feedback is really discouraging :(
 
@Elephas Maximus, I think that many people see your contributions to the site, and appreciate that. However I see a trend that many zoos in non-english speaking countries get less comments than american, british, australian, canadian and NZ ones. I think this has to do with the fact that many of the forumsters are English speaking, and they are often to ignorant to comment. Other explanations are that the sheer volume of posts on the forum makes the novelty wear off. Also many, myself included are to lazy to comment stuff. But that does not mean we do not appreciate it. And I certainly think that the things you contribute with are interesting and off good quality. Keep going!
 
It is easier to make comments on facilities with which one is familiar. I often read as much as I can about facilities that are new to me, but not having much context to build off of, rarely have anything to contribute. Just because something goes without comment, does not mean it goes without appreciation.

Yeah, this is true too.
 
I can only second Ituri! It's difficult to have an opinion if you have nothing to compare, or have never been there. From experience I know that many exhibitions look completely different (larger/ smaller/ crappier) in photos and videos than in RL.
Your aardvark photo here is great, and not only because aardvarks are supercute :)

In general, I wish we had more correspondents at zoochat from "underrepresented" countries, so even if I don't react, I am always glad to hear about Russian zoos!
 
Young male black crested gibbon is put on exhibit and being introduced in a temporary cage to our elderly Lar female.
