El Paso Zoo opens new Chihuahuan Desert exhibit - KVIA

Another article that features the new Chihuahuan dessert exhibit. If u guys have a chance watch the ending of the video.
I haven't seen any good overviews of the jaguar exhibit but I think you get a quick look of the whole thing at the 1:45 mark on the video (entire video is 2:11). Zoo director remarks that the cougar (aka mountain lion or puma) will be arriving in a month or so. My understanding is that it will alternate with the jaguar in the same exhibit. (My overall impression of the new expansion based on what I have seen is that it is average but not outstanding. Of course I will have to wait to see it in person to truly judge.)

Jaguar exhibit includes the overhead "railroad track" transfer and spaces at different levels within the mountain (the largest being at ground level)

I am most definitely NOT a fan of this new trend of cats in overhead walkways. I mean the cats may like it for the higher view (which is great), but for my interests (photographing them in natural surroundings) it is a disaster.

If the female Amur Leopard is still there she is Nastya (also known as 'Tya'), born 22 May 2003, Audubon and arrived at El Paso, 25 Oct 2012.

Mexican gray wolf pack arrives:

Mexican gray wolves settling in at El Paso Zoo

Two wolves and three of their pups were sent from the Phoenix Zoo to the El Paso Zoo last month in a bid to bolster the numbers of the species.

Kiseda said he hopes the breeding pair will continue to reproduce so El Paso becomes home to a multigenerational pack.
Any plans for candidates for release program over time?
