Has anyone any eperiance with this?

Would an electric current in the soil kill vegetation?

When the soil is wet the current is stronger and covers more area?

I know people with dogs that wear collars when in the country. These collars make a loud noise when sensors around the perineter of there property register they are close.

Could a electric current in the ground work????

No the electric current dont kill vegetation. Inh the same exhibit with use fence for protect some small trees from this pair of Ateles paniscus.

When the Bronx Zoo was designing JungleWorld a particularly brilliant and nutty designer experimented with actually electrifying the plants directly to protect them. As you might expect, they all died

Do they mean the fence is electrified and the soil conducts the electricity as the earth when the animal is touching the fence and the ground meaning they do not need an earth wire on the fence. To produce a shock the electricity has to complete a circuit. If the ground was electrified I do not see how it would work. Dry soil does not conduct electricity well but the ground works very well as an earth if the soil is wet. Our fences are 6,000 volts and in summer I can barely feel it due to the dry soil not conducting electricity well.
