Calgary Zoo Elephant Calf Ill

It is a tradegy yes, and also after Keemaya's death, I hope they don't lose another one,
 
Unfortanatly another inncedent for the Calgary Zoo, ZooCheck is comming down hard on the Calgary Zoo.
 
I, wonder if they tried tsome sort of cure,.. I don't know much about it I just know in Dickerson park zoo when Chandra was young she was cured of Herpes, now she is a teenager in Tulsa,

Naturally once a high profile animal dies at a zoo then all the rest of the deaths are analyzed in local papers. The Calgary Zoo has been unfortunate to have an elephant, 41 stingrays, a transported hippo and 4 gorillas all die since 2004.

You have to catch the symptoms early, really early...Chandra was very lucky. The only good thing about Malti's death is the data that can be retreived so we can better understand the elephant herpes viruses.
 
Good point, Matli's discovery and death from the herpes virus were quite close to each other,
 
Dickerson Park Zoo seems to have bad luck with elephant herpes,They've had two calves die since 2001.And with Hansa,you can be damn sure that Watoto the african elephant was the main cause.
