San Diego Zoo Elephant oddessey

Not related to EO, but just though I'd mention that there's a new and excellent insect house called Spineless Marvels. It's located in the Children's Zoo. Not sure how long its been there since I normally don't go to that part of the zoo. My friend said this was one of her favorite parts of the zoo, and I liked it much more than I thought I would.

That's good to hear, since I'm going to the SD Zoo on that weekend (6/27)!!!
 
Giraffe, anoa, meerkat, fossa and giant anteater are also located in Elephant Mesa

The cages where the small cats are/were have not had any animals for awhile and there's been work being done on them. I believe the fossa is in cat canyon(on the other side of the big cats).

There is also some kind of gazelle or antelope with the giraffes.

Also great update mweb08, I've been twice already but I'm yet to see the jaguars out. I can't wait to see the lions too. I was told by the keeper who works with the jags and will work with the lions that Orson will also be moving to the jaguar exhibit and they can house jaguars on the top of the building that is only viewable from the bus in the back.
