Woodland Park Zoo has announced the acquisition of 23-month old 0.1 Malayan Tapir Binti, who if I'm not mistaken is from ETZ as she was born here nearly two years ago.
Woodland Park Zoo on Instagram: "Welcome Binti! We are SO happy to announce that tapirs are back on the Trail of Vines! Binti is curious and friendly. Her animal keepers tell us she loves willow browse and a good back scratch! She will celebrate her 2nd birthday in July—the same month a new male tapir is schedule to join her. Guests might hear Binti squeal and whistle loudly to let animal keepers know she’s ready for her breakfast! Thanks to our fantastic exhibits team for making sure her habitat has all the creature comforts a tapir needs to swim, relax and explore. On January 29th, the zoo announced their female (0.1) jaguar named Seraphina passed away at age 17 due to cancer.

On March 8th, it was reported that the zoo hired a new director, Ryan Gulker, in February (he previously worked at high-level positions at multiple AZA facilities).
New director excited about zoo's growth
Sometime in Summer, the zoo announced they moved male (1.0) jaguar Balam on display inside the former Malayan tiger exhibit, while the facility is working to bring Malayan tigers back. The zoo also announced they started construction on upgraded exhibits for their DeBrazza's monkeys and black-and-white ruffed lemurs, which will be completed sometime in autumn.
Also, the zoo announced they built a new behind-the-scenes area called Reptile Resort, which will host 7 different species of crocodilians (American alligator, Chinese alligator, American crocodile, Cuban crocodile, Morlet's crocodile, Orinoco crocodile, and Sunda gharial) for breeding purposes.

On October 23rd, the zoo announced they built a new exhibit for their bald eagles, which is now open to the public.
Also on October 23rd, the zoo announced they started renovations on their big cat exhibits, which will last for a couple weeks.
