Just ran across this three volume set on Amazon. Does anyone own it that can give us a brief review? It is "only" around $700 US. :eek:

Not worth the money. It's now outdated, is rife with factual and grammatical errors, and includes rather random entries that attempt to summarize information about select taxa (i.e. "Bats") that really don't belong and offer little in the way of pertinent information. It was/is a great idea--unfortunately it really falls short of the mark. For a couple of hundred dollars, maybe, but $700!!!???.
