Environments of Captive Elephants

Hello,
I am currently studying a HNC in Animal Management and for my dissertation I was hoping to study the environments of captive elephants. However, I am concerned about how I'm going to get primary information and wondered if anybody knows any places close to North East England who may let me go and observe, ask questions and let me use them as a reference?
