It seems Erie Zoo will not appeal the ruling. They plan to reapply for accreditation in a year. Neither the zoo nor the AZA noted the reasons for the loss of accreditation. I would imagine it has something to do with aging infrastructure, that the zoo seeks to fix in its master plan.

It is infrastructure from what I understand. The zoo is in the process of a capital campaign. A new Colobus monkey habitat and a renovated river otter habitat are coming next year.

On February 13th, the zoo announced that one of their emperor scorpions had given birth to (0.0.12?) scorpions.

On June 4th, the zoo announced their (1.0.1) red pandas named Neo and Joe has been moved to a new exhibit near the main building.

On June 12th, the zoo confirmed the name and gender of the prehensile-tailed porcupine (who recently moved to Texas), who is a female named Bailee.
