A film entitled 'Escape From Extinction', narrated by Dame Helen Mirren, is due to release in cinemas in America on October 16th (only seen the article linked below, so I'm not sure to what extent it is being released elsewhere).
The film will look at the work being done by zoos and aquariums to prevent wildlife extinction. While the film acknowledges there is some controversy, it argues that zoos both protect individual animals (including unreleasable injured animals) and species whose habitats have been threatened.
