European Elephants #1

On the 1th of November a female asian elephant was born (Po Chin x Sandry) at Knie's Childeren Zoo in Rapperswil.
 
To update:
(Cologne) Marlar and Maha Kumari are both approximately 3-4 months pregnant, bred by Sang Raja, due in 2015.
(Dublin) Yasmin, Asha, Bernhardine, and Anak are all expecting calves sired by Upali in 2015.
(Emmen) Htoo Yin Aye, Ma Palai, Mong Tine, and Thuya (2.2) will be transferred to Dierenrijk
Undisclosed breeding bull to be transferred to Emmen afterwards
(Dierenrijk) Than Myan and Kan Kaung-----> Sevilla 3-12-13
 
Prague
Today, Asian cow Tonya (4) died. It looks 99% like it was caused by herpes virus (as stated by the zoo).
 
What a toll this takes on Asian elephant calves. No calf seems safe from it in its early years.
 
In Zurich female Asian elephant Indy is pregnant, the birth will be expected in June 2014
 
on the 31th of December Hanover saw another birth, morther is Manari. Sex of the calf has not been annoced yet.

Asian Bull, Chamundi transferred from Amersfoort to Pairi Daiza

Amersfoort will receive a replacement bull from Seville in the near future
