just randomnly,
I'm excited, in being quite a number of elephants births to happen this year,

Hannover has all females but Indra pregnant.

Khaing Hnin Hnin is due November
Manari is finally pregnant again yay! due July
Sayang - due april
Farina- due May
and Califa due July or August?

Emmen Zoo having fantastic success with elephant breeding has Htoo Kin Aye and Swe San Htay both due April.

And Bangka of Rotterdam for August.

Though I'd like to ask with Colonge zoo, the " Thai cows" Chumpol, Kreeblamduan, Maejaruad, Tong Koon and Laongdaw. Have they been mated with Bindu yet?
Since they were imported only Tong Koon has given birth (from mating at Royal Kraal)

The Burmese cows Shu Thu Zar ( stillbirth), Thi Ha Phyu and Aye Chan May have mated successfully with Bindu. .

I know Sang Raja has been seen mating Maejaruad and Chumpol any confirmed pregnancies?

You don`t mention any possible births in the U.K!!
 
Don't know if this interests anyone else but me. But I just found records of births before the thai cows Maejaruad and Tong Koon were imported to colonge.

Tong koon gave birth on 21 January 2003 to a female named Pang Aiyaret

and Maejaruad gave birth in june 2003 to Plai Surin.
 
I'm interested. I always thought that the chance that Maejaruad would have any babies was verry smal because sh's already 21. But if she already has a baby then it's not sudge a problem that she hassen't been pregnant yet in Cologne.

Yeah so far the Thai cows haven't been impregnanted by Bindu, though he has been shown successful by siring calves to Aye Chan May, Shu Thu Zar and Thi ha Phyu.

Sang Raja is awfully keen on all the of the thai cows though.

Yu zin is five tonnes! wow! how tall is she???
In my personal opinion I don't think she'd let Raja mate her, being very proud,experinced and probably larger than him ( though I could be wrong). I've always wondered though why she and radza never successfully mated.
 
She would be one BIG girl at that weight??.

Which bull elephant/s sired her other calfs?

The key word in this report is that they hope she will 'kick start' their breeding programme and also stimulate mating activity between the other elephants. This indicates there is currently not much, and maybe the bull is not interested in the two females he's lived with for a long time now. He may mate the new one, but probably the others really need a change of partner.
 
But dragonelenerd said in another topic that there was a serious change that both damini and chandrika are pregnant, though it's far from sure.
This must indicate that there were already matings or at least close contact between raja an the cows?
 
I've read on another forum that Raja has mated with both of them, but like you mentioned I can't be confirming that
Concerning Yu Zin, Dr Jake Veasey who's the head of animal conservation at Woburn Safari Park quoted "there's a possibility she may already be pregnant"
