I read with great interest all the arguments pro and con for both sides.

I visited Vienna 2 years ago and I was not impressed with the cat enclosures. The lion enclosure is aesthetically pleasing, but it feels very small for the animals. Leopards, tigers and cheetahs each have 1 perk, not super big, but enough for a city zoo. I already can't remember the lynx enclosure near the Tirolerhof, really excellent it must not have been.

That said, in Berlin it's obviously not good either: 1 tiger enclosure, and the jaguars and leopards are far too small (improvement on the way, though).

I do think the collection in Berlin is a lot better than in Vienna, though. And the way smaller carnivores are housed, is good.

I'm also very fond of the interior of Berlin's carnivore house.

Vienna has an outstanding Spectacled bear enclosure. Polar bear, hm, I would say it's rather average when it comes to the space given to the animals. But it's very well designed, has multiple vantage points, under water viewing, two enclosures, grassland, etc, so it has all the positives of the check-off list, except the surface area.

I'm leaning towards 3:2 in favor of Berlin, but still could change my mind.

A result which ended up a little closer than some fearer, and which was perhaps closer to the "true" state of affairs than the bald 5-point system allowed for any given vote to reflect:

Vienna - 50/115 points - 43.478%
Zoo Berlin - 65/115 points - 56.522%
