I was there too and really enjoyed it - I saw the cheetahs chasing each other around the enclosure and actually saw coati in the spectacled bear enclosure. Speaking of which was very surprised at how quickly the old coati encolsure has been removed - its hard to imagine anything was ever there. Just grass and a couple of palms now.
I hope the vasa parrots are staying and that they get a nice new enclosure, they're one of my favourites. I also enjoyed seeing the cheeky squirrels sneaking cake out of bins near the bears and jaguars and the wild rabbits under the bushes near the sealions.
It was a lot quieter than I expected and was very strange driving in as most people were leaving. My mum decided to join me last minute and they were still letting people in all evening which I thought was great. Don't think there can have been much publicity and the signs were still up saying the zoo closes at 5pm.
I wondered if anyone walking round was from zoobeat - but I always imagine you all looking like your avatars!!!!
We need to get t-shirts or at least badges!!
