I have to write an essay on the educational value of zoos and was wondering what you guys thought about how different zoos do it. i've decided to look at the signs/information on enclosures and any demonstrations/talks that they do and if there are any improvements that could be made to increase their educational value and appeal across all ages groups....so any opinions would be much appreciated! Thanks

Considering your in London, London Zoo would be a good start. Most of its newer exhibits have quite detailed information boards. Most signs in zoos are usually describing the species, showing conservation links and also intorduction you to the animals at the zoo, to put it simply! Some zoos also use touch screens and interactive games to educate guests about the exhibits (London and Paignton off the top of my head) If your wanting more information you could email a zoos education department as they are usually the ones who deal with this area of the zoo.
