Exmoor Zoo Exmoor Zoo 2020

1/ A wolverine is due to arrive shortly from Cotswold Wildlife Park. Another wolverine will arrive from another zoo to form a pair.
2/ Sadly a red river hog and bat eared fox recently died. Both were very elderly.
3/ Exmoor Zoo were offered Snow Leopards which would have been amazing! But they declined them as they felt they could not provide adequate facilities.

Whilst it's a shame they turned down the Snow Leopards, I appreciate that they were responsible enough to do so... Maybe if we weren't in the current climate, they would have had the funds to develop an exhibit.

A fantastic new guidebook is available at the zoo. Its focus is very much on the zoo itself, rather than its being a generic booklet about animals. It is beautifully illustrated and designed as well, with photos by, amongst others, @gentle lemur and @ro6ca66. I’m not sure how heavily it is being pushed - I don’t think it’s yet available by mail order for example - but it is definitely worth getting hold of.

Full disclosure; I was involved in the production of this guidebook....

There is no international shipping, but I ordered using my UK address. Thanks for sharing :)

I am also interested in purchasing some copies but, as always, it will be difficult for foreigners.
If someone has tips to go on, help will be much appreciated.

Were you able to order through the zoo’s website, or did you contact them directly?

I ordered through zoo's website.

EDIT:

I been very stupid and actually ordered Hamerton's guide. It is probably a coincidence, that they have a new limited edition zoo guide and I was browsing the websites of the both zoos. Sorry for confusion !

The Exmoor's guide can not been ordered online, I will try to contact their office.

Ah - that makes sense! The Hamerton guidebook has been produced by the same team, and so there is a connection!

I can only suggest that you contact Exmoor directly.

@sooty mangabey is too modest to mention that he and @Designaka did most of the work on the new guidebook - and very good it is too. I bought a copy at the zoo yesterday and can thoroughly recommend it (although it includes a few of my photos, there are better photos from several other photographers too).
There is advice about getting a copy through the post on Exmoor Zoo's Facebook page.

@sooty mangabey the new Exmoor Zoo guidebook arrived today and I fully enjoyed every page of it ! Beautiful pictures and nice editing. I like the "national" big cat, the Black Panther on the front cover and the gorgeous Ringtail on the back. Exmoor is a family zoo and the book is more invitation for Lynn and Danny's Estate , than a zoo guide. My favorite part is the short text under each species "The animal in Exmoor", which gives curious info about the origin of animals in the zoo. The place is packed with rarities and one elusive creature is calling me there for quite some time. I couldn't reach it in April, but will try again asap.

And what is your verdict on the guidebook?
Bought one yesterday, my verdict is it is excellent, as good as the Hamerton one!

Can your team please offer your services to every zoo in the UK?! Although some zoos won't be happy with the 'bargain' price of £3.50, I've seen guide books nowhere near as good on sale for £5

That would be nice, if rather time-consuming! It looks like there’ll be a couple more in 2021, all being well. Judging by your new avatar, you had a good visit to Exmoor!
