Had a lovely visit to Exmoor Zoo last week and was really impressed with how its changed since I last went.
Loved the Clouded Leopard Exhibit and when they done the talk at 4pm, it was great to see how visible the Female was, and what a huge contract she was to the male. So much more special to look at.
Honey Badgers go on show at Easter which is exciting, as well as Pond Turtles.
I actually got to see the Wolverine, which makes a change as I don't have much luck with that animal at other places (bar Cotswold Wildlife Park)
Was speaking to a senior keeper and he was saying they have been on the waiting list for quite a while for Red Panda's and that there is a chance, they may actually get some in 2023, so for me that is something to really look forward to, as bar Combe Martin, this is the closest collection to where I live, and I absolutely adore Red Panda's.
The young Caracal (about 4 months old now) is so lively and playful and is always jumping on its Mum, its absolutely adorable as well.
A few of the Wallaby's have Joeys as well.
Was also told that they have a pair of Javan Binturongs off show, which eventually will replace the elderly pair of non Javan's they have opposite the Sand Cats.
I really liked the Ringtail as you entered the Zoo, what a cool species this is, and something I had never seen before.
The Sitatunga had quite a few young as well, so it looks as if they've had a good breeding season.
I really like Exmoor Zoo and will definitely be going again over Easter to see the Honey Badgers. I am told these came from Howlett's.
