The Bridgeport Zoo in Connecticut held an "Exotic Animal Amnesty Day", and retrieved 135 illegally owned pets from the general public. I really like the notion of having these days, as exotic pets are then gathered up from the arms of owners who have no desire to keep the animals any longer. However, how does a small zoo have the space for the new additions? Are the animals spread out to a number of other zoological parks?

It's a brave zoo!

But I wonder how it gets space to care for 135 extra animals?

Probably given to rescues and sanctuaries, except the small monkey maybe was kept. But I don't believe even housing 30 or so more large pythons would be very easy so I am not sure where they are going? But it was sad to read that woman was mauled by that man's chimpanzee it just goes to show large exotic animals to belong in peoples houses.
