Hey all,

as I just discovered that a local waterpark in Germany, Spreewelten Lübbenau, which holds humboldt penguins. There is even something like a channel for the penguins which connects their two pools, where the swimmers can 'race' against them. I was curious about some other similar places you might know, where exotic (or not exotic) animals are kept in amusement parks etc.. well, outside of zoos/wildlife parks.
The link to Spreewelten Lübbenau is: Schwimmen mit Pinguinen: Spreewelten
A youtube video which footage of the penguins:

P.S.: If there has already been a thread like this one, please inform me and close the thread.

What is your definition of a zoo though? Some amusement park can also be zoos, eg DAK.
Mh yes, maybe I was a bit unprecisely. I mean classical zoos or better said, parks/attractions where animals are not the main thing to see/do, like in the waterpark mentioned.

There are many city/town parks (at least in Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, the UK, and France that I've heard of) that has some aviaries with parrots/chickens. In Denmark, these kinds of aviaries are usually run by local breeders' associations and often only keep stuff like budgies and cockatiels, although rarer species can be seen here and there.

Does that fit into the category you're thinking of?

Several of the Six Flags theme parks in the USA have animals, one even has a drive-thru safari. That one used to keep dolphins in the theme park itself, and I believe the one in northern CA still does. Busch Gardens also keeps a few animals, with the Tampa theme park having a large, well-known zoo.
