Knowing the AZA, probably a "sanctuary" that amounts to little more than a grass field.

That is a fair point - I'm moreso thinking of the facility that Joe Exotic's cats went to which basically amounts to a grass field.

The jaguarundi, too.
 
Nicholas, an approximately 3 year old male mountain lion, was moved from EFBC to Lions, Tigers & Bears yesterday per video posted by LTB on their social media today.

The animal hospital named on the list is owned by one of the vets on EFBC's Board of Directors so perhaps that cat is undergoing veterinary care? That's pure speculation on my part.

Yeah, everything from world-class zoos to animal sanctuaries to roadsides, quite a bizarre and eclectic bunch. Not a list I'd expect to see all together like that. The animal hospital is certainly a head-scratcher though. And does anyone on here know what WEC is?

That is a lot of sand cat!

As expected, none of the rare cats look to be going to public display, which makes sense as none of those species are really a priority for public collections.

Tiger Haven is a sanctuary and I assume they provide quality care. They do not breed, so in that sense it is nothing like the closed "tiger king" zoo. However, they are closed to the public which in my opinion makes their facility of low value. What's the point of warehousing animals that no one can see for educational value and that are not bred for conservation value? I did see under their FAQ's a statement that accredited zoos serve a role in modern society, so at least they are not anti-zoo like some other rescue facilities (and thankfully none of the cats went to the one we all know like this in Florida). It is a real shame though that several sand cats plus the South China and Persian leopards went someplace where they will not be seen by the public.
