Exotic Mammals in Australian Zoos

I fully updated all the animal lists (for both Aus and NZ) a week ago, and you're already making changes! :p

I'm sceptical of this answer from them. The only reason I had Golden Lions on there for Melbourne before was because I didn't know if they were actually still there or not (my last full update had been in 2017 or 2018, and I think they've been gone since around 2017). If they have them now then they must have just got them.
Yes, they must have just gotten the Golden Lion tamarins because when I asked in December, they said they didn't have any. This must be why they have been so many renovations on the treetop monkey enclosures recently. Maybe so that the emperor and golden lion tamarins can move in?

Golden Lion Tamarin (Leontopithecus rosalia) – Adelaide; Halls Gap; Mogo; Perth; Symbio; Tasmania Zoo; Wildlife HQ
Gorge Wildlife Park now has Golden Lion Tamarin - two females from Adelaide Zoo.
Meet our newest additions to the park, two gorgeous Golden Lion Tamarin girls from Adelaide Zoo. How amazing is their golden colour and mane just like a lion!

*Common Hippopotamus (Hippopotamus amphibius) – Adelaide; Werribee; Western Plains Zoo
As reported by @Sunbear12, Adelaide Zoo's last Common Hippopotamus has been put to sleep at the age of 54.
Friends, it is with a very heavy heart that we announce the passing of Brutus, Adelaide Zoo's much-loved Hippopotamus.

At 54, Brutus was the oldest hippo in Australia and had lived at Adelaide Zoo for 45 years. Due to his advanced years, and concerns that age-related conditions were likely to cause him further discomfort over the winter period, veterinary staff and keepers made the extremely difficult but kind decision to euthanise.

We will miss Brutus greatly. However, the good news is that Brutus’ legacy lives on. Brutus is survived by two hippos, his granddaughter Brindabella and great grandaughter Pansy, both of whom reside at Werribee Open Range Zoo in Victoria.

Throughout his life, Brutus has been a true ambassador animal for his vulnerable species. Visits to see the gentle giant resulted in educating millions of visitors about the plight of his wild cousins and the vital conservation work that will hopefully save Hippopotamus from extinction. ❤️

While this is undoubtedly sad news, we really want to celebrate Brutus’ life and all that he achieved. So, to commemorate his 54 years and all the smiles he gave us, we would love it if you could indulge in some of his favourite foods – watermelon or an apple, banana and pear fruit salad – and post a picture in the comments along with any messages about Brutus and for his keepers.

Vale dear Brutus. We hope you're resting with Susie now.

Arguably one of the best pieces of news for 2020. Wild Cat Conservation Centre has imported a pair of Clouded Leopard!! From the zoo's Facebook page:
We are so excited to announce the arrival of two Clouded Leopard to WCCC!

The 5-month-old cubs, Tai (male) and Cinta (female) are the first of their kind in the country.

The cubs are a part of an international breeding program for the vulnerable species. Our centre is the only zoological institution in Australia to be accepted as part of the international conservation program and studbook for Clouded Leopard, due to our high level of expertise and specific focus on wild cats!

The cubs will be joined by other leopards in the near future, to establish a breeding population and further our goal of conserving this and other incredible smaller wild cat species!

*Blackbuck (Antilope cervicapra) – Altina; Darling Downs; Hunter Valley; Mansfield; Monarto; National Zoo; Sydney Zoo; Werribee; Western Plains Zoo; Wildlife HQ. Also in private hands
I contacted Wildlife HQ and confirmed that they no longer have Blackbuck. The zoo's small herd moved to another facility and their enclosure is now under-construction for a new exhibit.

*Small-clawed Otter (Aonyx cinerea) – Adelaide; Australia Zoo; Gorge; Melbourne; Mogo; National Zoo; Perth; Rockhampton; Taronga; Tasmania Zoo; Western Plains Zoo;
There was a small segment on Australian breakfast television (of all places:rolleyes:) today that announced that Sydney Zoo now have two Asian Small-clawed Otters. They moved into the former Capybara enclosure. The Capybara are still at the zoo and have been mixed with the capuchins.

Before I forget again, D'Aguilar Wildlife also have Blackbuck.

The zoo had an actual otter enclosure though, did they not? Why put the otters into the Capybara enclosure instead of into the enclosure they made specifically for them?

*Serval (Leptailurus serval) – Adelaide; Altina; Crocodylus; Darling Downs; Gorge; Halls Gap; Hunter Valley; Mogo; National Zoo; Tasmania Zoo; Werribee; Wild Cat Conservation Centre; Zoodoo

There are about 25 Servals in Australia, most of which are related to some degree. Almost all of those currently in Australia were originally imported from NZ (mostly bred at Auckland Zoo) or were bred at Mogo Zoo (Mogo's breeding pair was a male imported from Auckland in 2003 and a female imported from South Africa's National Zoo in 2005). There are also Melbourne- and Adelaide-bred Servals in the country.
3.0 Servals are now at Wildlife HQ - a six-week-old kitten who keepers are hand raising and a pair of older brothers. All of them arrived from Altina Wildlife Park.

*generic Tigers (Panthera tigris) (hybrids and whites) – Australia Zoo; Crocodylus; Dreamworld; Mogo; National; Sydney Zoo. Also at Zambi (not open to public).

Most of the generic Tigers in Australia (the so-called "Bengal Tigers") derive from animals at Bullens (ex-circus). Those at Crocodylus (1.1) were bred at Bullens. Mogo has 1.1 originally bred at Bullens, as well as 0.1 bred at Mogo from that pair. Australia Zoo's 1.2 Tigers were bred at Mogo in 2007. Dreamworld has some Tigers from Bullens but their original animals were 3.3 (including white ones) imported from the USA in 1995; they also imported an orange female from Krakow Zoo (Poland) in 2013 [now at Sydney Zoo], and two white females from Hirakawa Zoo (Japan) in 2016. National Zoo has 2.2, all from Dreamworld.
I believe Crocodylus Park doesn’t have any tigers currently. Their male Rama died in May 2019 at the age of 17 (Security Check) and their female Durga passed away today at the age of 18 (Security Check).
