Taronga now has a male fishing cat (imported in February from Rotterdam), meaning there are now two fishing cats in Australia.

I think there are 21 elephants. No idea on koalas, probably 1000 or so.
Banana Cabana Primate Sanctuary in Dural (a rural suburb of Sydney) has rhesus, crab-eating and bonnet macaques as well as black-handed spider monkey.

Now they are kept only at Adelaide (0.2), Melbourne (1.0) and Darling Downs (1.1).

What are the plans, will the population be managed with new imports (there are about 390 Brazilian tapirs in Europe) or they are phase-out species in Australia, Chli?
How many Malayan tapirs are in Australia currently?
the Brazilian Tapirs currently in the country are all related and most are elderly. None of them are going to be used for breeding as things stand now. Some zoos are interested in importing new animals, but nothing has happened yet.
There is one male and three female Malayan Tapirs in Australia. None of these remainder are going to be bred from, and it is unlikely any more will be imported.

Then Brazilian tapirs have biggest chance to be established as future breeding managed population in Australia, just for Australian zoos, do not stay without any tapir, and for Australian public to have the chance to see tapirs in their own country.
Brazilian tapirs are easy to keep in captivity and are (can be) reproductively very successfull, just like common hippos or pygmy hippos.
They had a female born (and subsequently hand-raised) in 2011, and just after the breeding female died, so possibly these three that were sent to Canberra were all that was left?
EDIT: The Facebook post mentions that the names are Bond, Ursula and Barbara (assuming one male, two females?), while the female born in 2011 was named Rio, so unless she was re-named or died there should still be at least one female left at Taronga.

there were five agoutis at Taronga last year (one being the 2011 female, the others all very old animals) - the ones at National are the old ones "retired" to make room for new stock. I would guess the young female would have stayed at Taronga for breeding with a new male. However I'm not sure how many there are at Taronga currently - if any - so I have added National to the listing but left Taronga on there (and also Melbourne, although I'm not sure if their old animal is still alive either).
In other additions, the siamang arrived at National a couple of months ago (male from Orana and female from Mogo) but I gather they are not on display yet.
The tree shrew at Adelaide may no longer still be with us - I've left it on the list for now, just in case, but with a "[may be dead]" note.

The tree shrew was not on display when I visited in April(-ish) this year, the exhibit had been taken over by reptiles. Have the Gorge animals died as well?
I don't know what the story is with Gorge and tree shrews. I know someone on here at one point said they had an enclosure for them, but I don't know whether they had the Melbourne animal which has died or a separate individual. If anyone knows the current situation with Gorge let us know.
