Auction closes on June 4. For around $6000 you can own your own piece of extinction history:

If someone here successfully bids on this bird, can figure out how to bioengineer a viable egg, extract some viable genomic DNA, and has a spare billion dollars for a recreational cloning project then we may be in business to bring back the passenger pigeon:).
