Favourite Movies

I have just read this thread for the first time and before I mention films I like a lot, I notice a number of you have mentioned Pan’s Labyrinth. What a load of old rubbish that is, I borrowed it last year, watched it and have not seen such drivel in years, stick insects, giant toads and civil wars, like putting soap into a cake mix, it doesn’t work....

Personal fav films

Action/Blockbuster favourites
LOtR trilogy
All Star Wars films bar Episode 1
Indiana Jones films

Comedy Films
Anything by Laurel & Hardy (I almost cry laughing at these two)
Jackie Chan films
Monty Python films

Others in no order :
Pulp Fiction
The Shawshank Redemption
Goodfellas
Casino
One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest
Forest Gump
Apocalypse now
The Deer Hunter
Trainspotting
Rocky I

I can't believe nobody's mentioned these yet, but "THE DARK KNIGHT" trilogy by Christopher Nolan are three of the greatest movies I have ever seen, with 2008's "The Dark Knight" and the new sequel, "The Dark Knight Rises", both go into my top 10, if not my top 5.

Pixar has also made some really great movies too, "Finding Nemo", all three "Toy Story"s, "Up", and "Cars" all turned out great.

The Harry Potter series deserves a mention, as does the original "Star Wars" trilogy.

Many more out there; just too many to actually rank them

"The Princess Bride"

I just happened across this video made in honour of Indiana Jones, set to the tune of a Bon Jovi song. Watching it made me remember how awesome the original three movies were and how execrable the fourth one was :(

(The video was made just before the fourth one came out but has a couple of quick shots from that movie taken from the pre-release trailer).
