Favourite TV Shows

Although Doctor Who is my favorite show, and currently only show, I'm looking for another series to add to my lineup. Does anyone have any recommendations regarding mystery shows that don't include CSI in the title?

Have you tried the new Sherlock Holmes TV series with Lucy Liu as Watson? 'Elementary' I think it is called. I only saw one episode, but I really enjoyed it.

I'll second Nano's recommendation.

I love the original CSI but its about 5 years past its prime. When William Peterson wanted to leave it should have rode off into the sunset with him. Ted Danson plays a very interesting character but its too little too late. Lawrence Fishburne is a great actor but CSI gave him nothing to work with.

When they started the constant serial killer arcs it really jumped the shark. And its now starting to recycle plots.

I enjoy anything on Animal Planet or Nat Geo Wild. preferably anything with David Attenborough.

I like the show on Nat Geo about California Game Wardens - Wild Justice. Its cops with all animal/wildlife/park crime.

So I'm addicted to this new show called Please Like Me. Josh Thomas wrote and stars in it and it's just about the most realistic television I've ever watched. Most of the dialogue sounds as if it wasn't even scripted and they're having conversations for real. It's unpretentious, awkward, and the best representation of generation Y in Australia that I've ever seen. Australians can watch it on ABC iview but if your overseas you'll probably have to find dodgier ways to watch it.

I thought this was a great show! I loved Geoffrey and Claire, but I didn't like Josh (apparently I'm very like him though, which might be why). Some of it was very funny and clever, and yes, very "real". I found a few bits too awkward though, I don't like awkwardness!

I think most if not all the episodes are on youtube, although they aren't all easy to find (because they have just called them "PLM" which isn't very useful), and some have Chinese subtitles. And its out on DVD now, and worth a watch if you haven't seen it. I hope they do a few more series!
