Felids of the United States

@drill I went with what the facility lists them as, both are listed as African. I'm reluctant to list anything beyond that without evidence.

@Julio C Castro Thanks! San Diego Safari Park is one of just a couple places where I couldn't find a USDA list for, so I could only go with what their website has.

@Jungle Man Thanks! That should be removed then.

@Arizona Docent You are so kind! Thanks for catching that error, maybe a mod can fix that one for me?
Regarding the leo/jag hybrid - Leonardo passed away in January :(
The Rusty-spotted cat: Not only do they have one, they have 2 adults, and while going to get a photo for you, I discovered they HAVE A KITTEN born last week!!!! Carson Springs Wildlife Conservation Foundation

@MidwestFan Thank you! Their inspection still lists them as having one, but the cat could have been transferred to Simmons since then.

So updates would be:

Sand Cat:
San Diego Safari Park, CA

Ocelot:
Brookfield Zoo?

Serval:
Animal Haven Zoo, WI

Canada Lynx:
Remove question mark from Columbus Zoo, OH

Bobcat:
Animal Haven Zoo, WI?
Menominee Park Zoo, WI (summer only)
Remove Lincoln Park Zoo, WI

Cougar:
Animal Haven Zoo, WI?
Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo, NE?

Clouded Leopard:
Remove Safe Haven Wildlife Sanctuary

Leopard:
Animal Haven Zoo, WI?

Lion:
Animal Haven Zoo, WI

Tiger:
Animal Haven Zoo, WI

Hybrid:
Animal Haven Zoo, WI?

No problem, glad to be of some help! :)

@birdsandbats
Special Memories: They still have the animal, though.

Brookfield Zoo: Is there anything showing they actually have an ocelot yet? There is no mention on their website, not on USDA, and I can't find any on their social media. The only thing I can find is the 2020 thread in here mentioning the new exhibit, but no one has posted seeing the cat.

Animal Haven: Are you referring to the one in WI? They're registered as a dealer and don't have an exhibitor license, which is... interesting. They only have a facebook, with minimal photos, most of which are several years old. Based on their USDA list, I would list them as:
Lion (photo from 2020)
Tiger (photo from 2020)
Serval (photo from 2019)
Hybrid?
Leopard?
Cougar?
Bobcat? (USDA lists a bobcat, nothing about a canada lynx)

Columbus: Yep, the question mark should be removed from the lynx. They don't have the species on their website, but I found enough to feel comfortable listing that.

Menominee Park Zoo: They have bobcat in the summer. I think I might have put "(summer only)" next to the wrong zoo, it should have been with this place.

ShowMe Tigers: I'm not finding anything about them having a golden? Note that for places with high cub turnover like that, I didn't mark colors based on younger cubs.
How do you know Special Memories still has Geoffroy's Cat?

Yes, Animal Haven Zoo is open to the public, I've been there. They should have Lion, Tiger, Serval, Leopard, Canada Lynx, and Liger.

I know ShowMe Tigers has an adult Golden, I've seen it.

... because I have no reason to believe they don't. I'm not removing something from my lists just because someone thinks they might no longer have the animal, with no evidence. It meets my requirements.

I never said they weren't open to the public. I said their license was the wrong kind, which is "interesting". As in, could have legal issues. I have only found evidence to support them currently having lion, tiger, and serval. They potentially have a hybrid, leopard, cougar, and bobcat, according to their USDA inspection, but I couldn't find any recent evidence to support that, so they get question marks.

I eventually found one video that included the golden. It's really not a big deal, as I said, not having the mark next to a name doesn't mean they don't have that color, it just means I didn't easily find proof of it.

Additoinal update: Omaha Zoo does still exhibit Cheetah, typically non-breeding animals, as all of the breeding animals are at the Lee Simmons Wildlife Safari and Conversation Park.

Articles about Special Memories stated that they no longer keep any animals, even domestics!

There are photos of Animal Haven's Leopard and Liger in the gallery from a couple years ago.

How the heck did I miss that one?! Complete overlook on my part, I wasn't paying as much attention with cheetahs since I have the studbook and other documents for them.

No, they don't. Every article I've read says they have plans to rehome most of their animals. I'm not going to keep arguing with you on this.

Maybe instead of constantly trying to correct me, you should go back and read the first post. You're saying I need to remove an animal that was at a place just a couple months ago, yet I'm supposed to go with photos from years ago on something else? Years ago isn't recent.

where is ShowMe tigers?

He's based in Oklahoma, but he travels with circuses.

@TinoPup Do you (or anyone else) know what happened to the king cheetah at LEO Conservation Center after they closed? Someone in the cheetah SSP told me they heard that all of LEO's cheetahs were transferred to Virginia Safari Park, but they have not responded to repeated contact requests via Facebook and Email and none of their posted photos show a king cheetah.

The facility in Texas that you asked about is the Austin Savanna. As far as I can tell it’s a private facility not open to the public. And then I’m not even sure it exists. You never know what you are going to see driving across Texas...

Yep. Go to Texasdisposal.com. It’s a breeding ranch owned by a wealthy wildlife enthusiast. Not an uncommon thing in Texas. I imagine many of their animals periodically end up in zoos. Depending on the level of cooperation, these kinds of facilities are probably pretty important in maintaining breeding populations of animals that zoos can only maintain in small numbers for display and education.

No! I've never gotten a reply from them, either. My plan had been to go there at the end of July, when I'm pet sitting in Virginia and a few hours closer, but I don't know if that will happen now :( I haven't come across a king at any other facility and I follow a bunch of cheetah related stuff on social media, so I do think the cat is there or behind the scenes somewhere.

You genius! THANK YOU! I couldn't find a single mention of it anywhere on google, using so many different search terms... it's the only place I couldn't ID. But then again I didn't scroll all the way down on their website, because I wasn't expecting a garbage truck company to publicly have an event facility like that :D They have a massive herd of over 200 blackbuck, and over 900 animals in total.

They also specifically stated that the only animals that they were considering keeping were domestics, meaning those Geoffroy's Cats will be gone very soon if they aren't already.

"Years ago" in this case is 2018 - it's not like a roadside zoo struggling for money would get rid of popular animals like big cats.

@drill ShowMe Tigers is located at Circus World Museum every summer.

Wild Cat Education and Conservation Fund in CA has a King cheetah

2018 is two years ago. Plural, multiple. There are plenty of reasons for a place to no longer have an animal. I've acknowledged they potentially have the animals. I'm not going to change the rules I set for this because of some awful roadside zoo that may or may not have an animal or two.

I learned about a facility that I can't pin using the thread and don't know the name unfortunately. They have Sand Cat (3), Fishing Cat, Geoffroy's Cat, Serval, Caracal, Bobcat, Canada and Eurasian Lynxes.

Other notables include Augur Buzzard, Tawny Owl, what appears to be a Verreaux's Eagle, and until recently Fisher.

Anybody know what facility this might be?

Do you know location or anything? I have just two overlaps with sand cat and geoffroy's, Columbus Zoo and EFBC's Feline Conservation Center, neither of which would match. All of the cats you mention are fairly common in the pet trade, so it could be a private facility, and/or somewhere without a license and no real social presence.

I don't, but it appears to be US or maybe Canada. It appears to be a private facility, seems to be reputable and the animals are in good condition.
