Karlsruhe Zoo Fire at Karlsruhe zoo - many animals dead

@ sooty mangabey. Thanks for your fair words, and sorry for my bad english, I know, its not perfect, but I have to say, I'm not the person, you talk about in your posting. I'm not working in a zoo, but I have a lot of good connections and friendships to zoostaff. So maybe I know what I talking about. I don't offend people, I never done that. But I try to reach that some people ehr think about what is happening to animals. So people eating meat from animals, which had a god damm bad life, had a really painful transportation through whole europe and then, they had a really **** happend death, not that"humanly" death as is it a young boy like Toddy thinking. For me, there is absolutly no diffrence to the domestic animals in a zoo.

@Toddy. Boy, you never have visted a sloughtherhouse, didn't you ? The animals were slaughterd humanly, thats the best joke of you. Comon, in which Dreamword do you live ? At Disney World, I think.

By the way, what is your imagination of killing animals humanly ? Belive me, my friend, these animals have no better death than the animals in the Karlsruhe petting zoo.

But, thank you for your compliments, my little young friend. And don't take the life that seriousley, it isnt not that hard as you might think....

@PeGe.The more tragic fact is having very big mammals running the risk of wintering without a roof above them,....And not barbecuing pigmy goats....

These are the words of a true animal lover, Hmm ? Hippos and Elephants do not have that problems with winter times as you know. But who said, the animals will be there, when winter comes, Hmm, who said it ?

"True animal lover".
According to you, ill never be one, and i doubt so many perons actually can,...
I thought you were the one "fighting" with irony?
Didn't you criticize concernment about the death of domestic animals in that case?
They don't stay there? Isn't that a typical "rumour?".

I don't offend people, I never done that.

All other arguments aside, @tarsius, the evidence here is that you offended a number of people. Did you intend to? Do you agree that they should take offense? Who knows. But the facts of these two threads ought to let you see that indeed you offended a few people.

My own view is that your original comments, heard face to face in a pub might have gotten an evil chuckle. But posted in a faceless Forum, they came off as morbid and heartless. Context matters more than intention sometimes.

Just want to add my sympathies to all at Karlsruhe. Having experienced a serious fire at a collection I worked at that thankfully had only a small loss of life, I can imagine a little how traumatised the staff will be feeling, and the surviving animals too.

I hope all of the animals find new homes soon and that everyone at the zoo continues their good work.
