I thought it would be a good idea to create a thread which highlights the important role of zoos within Latin America (defined as Mexico, Central America and South America) and the Caribbean in conservation.
Here we can post information about milestones reached in these zoos in terms of the first captive breeding of species (defined here as in the world rather than by country or region) and past, present or future ex-situ conservation programes for vulnerable and endangered species.
