I think probably a returning hatchling which invokes a wonderful story......adult turtles wiped out but last few breedings resulted in a few survivors out there which are now returning to their 'home' beach to breed. Let's hope there may be a few more but who knows, this may the only survivor from the breedings decades ago. It would seem that this is the first breeding of this female so she may return again. Plus with the eggs being hatched artificially there should be a larger than average % of survivors (at least beyond the first few weeks) from this current batch so we may see more returning in the future. If more turn up in next few years, Malta government will need to put in some additional protection though.......
