Fishing cats in North America

There are indeed a handful in private facilities and it may be possible to buy them from a couple sources. But I would be surprised if there are "lots of them" for sale, at least that are genuine offers and not scams. People (mostly rights extremists) claim you can buy a cheetah on the internet which is absolutely not true, though I am sure there are scammers who offer cheetahs for sale.

Something tells me that an ad for a $1,000 cheetah isn't realistic...

As for the fishing cat, I found one ad-

Reid Park Zoo had originally announced they would add fishing cats as part of their Asia expansion which begins construction soon. However, recent posts make no mention of them in the animal lineup so I fear they may have been dropped?
