The latest news has encouraged me to start learning how to identify tracks, so far I think the footprint is very cheetah-ish.
 
The "Fast" hint probably means cheetahs, which is nice, with that and the new clouded Leopards, this zoo has a pretty good carnivore line-up now. I still plan on a visit some time this year, it's just a case of when.

Just been announced on social media that the new arrivals are 0:0:4 cheetah. Looking at the names I'm presuming males but possibly a mix. No mention if where they've arrived from. Hoping to have the enclosure fully opened by May
 
Five Sisters are really racking up an impressive cat/carnivore selection! (Unlike certain neighbours..). I haven’t seen cheetahs in years and I’ve never seen a clouded leopard or fishing cat. I haven’t been to FSZ in years unfortunately just with how difficult public transpo is
 
Moreover, you can catch a bus to Livingston, then a bus to Polbeth and FSZ is only a 5 minute walk.

Both the Cheetahs and Clouded Leopards arrived with us from a private Zoo in England that was closing and we were thankful for the opportunity to bring them to FSZ.
Being the only ones of their kind in Scotland, they will all play an important role as ambassadors for their species and we are extremely excited to have them here!"

@mattmcg83 I live in Plymouth and have never visited this attraction. When the ride private is used does it mean that the Animals were someone's exotic pets and the place wasn't open to the public. If yes the Cheetah's etc might be off show for a while as they get aclimitised to people,who are not their owner.

When I visited the zoo a few weeks ago, they’ve separated a part of the enclosure off for Byara

I mean, you know what clouded leopards are like! Good to see the cheetahs, when I visited both the new species were catnapping :D

Discussion on what 'private zoo' means here, but generally not regularly open to the general public. If you open to the public for more than 7 days a year, you need a zoo licence rather than a Dangerous Wild Animals licence

I'm toying with the idea of visiting Five Sisters later this month when I'm off work. This would be my first visit, so for those who know the place well, roughly how long would I need to get around the whole zoo and see everything? Because I'd be going up there by train and I'll need to factor in which trains to get there and back. Also, which part of the zoo are the cheetahs and clouded leopards in? Because the map on the website hasn't been updated to include them.
