I didn't get to respond to that bcuz I didn't get the notification but it was mostly the baby hippo which I did see

That's OK, as long as you had a good time and saw everything you wanted to see, I'll have to get back down to Flamingo Land some time soon to see if I can spot the young hippo.
By any chance, during your visit did you notice if any building work was going on anywhere? I ask because the zoo announced a while ago that they'd be building a new enclosure for some Cape fur seals that arrived earlier this year, I'm just wondering how far along they are with it? When I last visited in May, the fur seals were being kept temporarily in the same area as the California sea lions, though I didn't manage to see them.
 
Visited last week and the new part is looking great, new top building looks half complete for the river ride aswell. Most of the back and side wall for the lions on the opposite side of the new sea lion enclosure is demolished aswell, and the only thing inside the enclosure still standing is that gazebo shelter.

The Lorikeet & Kookaburra walkthrough has also been redone with a new outdoor area and raised walkthrough fit for the White-Naped Mangabey to move into.

Lots of developments all around :)

All good stuff, I'm thinking about visiting Flamingo Land again in May next year, hopefully most of the new developments will be finished and open by then.
