I was not aware it was this easy to purchase primates in Florida. Whats gone on in Florida to make it so easy??

Nothing really, its more like what hasnt gone on in Florida that it isnt like many other places. Here are some links that might interest you:

Florida Fish and Wildlife also holds an "Amnesty Day" once or twice a year to provide a no questions asked place and time for people to surrender their unwanted pets. These animals are then given to new owners that have previously applied for a permit and have shown that they can care for these such animals. In Miami earlier this year, someone brought in a Serval.

Meanwhile, the state of Nebraska has its own "amnesty" for primates too!
