Fly fishing in Los Angeles

After many decades of abuse the Los Angeles River running through (surprise) Los Angeles is being restored to something resembling its natural condition along parts of its course. There has been enough restoration that they held the first annual fly fishing derby.

Fascinating! I didn't realise that the 'storm drain' where they filmed the chase scene in Terminator 2 is actually the LA River!

The paved section of the LA River has starred in many productions. T2 is one of the more famous ones along with the giant ant invasion in "Them".

That's very cool. It's a very exciting time for the river and Los Angeles. There is a billion dollar plan coming together for its ecological restoration. Much has been done and much is hopefully coming.
