Cool where will they be going? will it be a bachelor herd or breeding herd?
Are you sure, i don't think any of the zoos in the area AA, Banham and Colchester have ever held bongo.Looking to be proved wrong. (again

Yeah they have hoofstock that look like Bongos lol. I do not know where they're coming from, I do not know where they're going (however there is an empty wooded enclosure that used to have Barbary Sheep which seems the most likely and logical place for them to go) and it will be a bachelor herd (unfortunately

They are breeding quite well, so there is no real need to have another collection breeding more animals that they will struggle to place. In a few years time this situation may change and AA may be asking to keep a breeding herd.

I didn't realise how well they were doing in captivity. However way you look at it, it's a nice addition for the region!
I assume the Barbary Sheep are still there, so do you mean the enclosure next to theirs?
I seem to remember that being empty, but with a gate so that they could let the Barbary Sheep in if they wanted. Memories a bit hazy but I don't remember it being particularly large.

Update on the Bongo front!
I visited Africa Alive today and asked about the Bongos. They're going into an enclosure that currently holds the year-before-last's offspring of Blesbok (not on the 'Plains of Africa'). The Blesbok are going somewhere else, can't remember where but the name Bristol Zoo springs to mind for some reason.
At one point there were talks about putting another new species into the wooded 'add on' to the Barbary Sheep enclosure, as the animals don't use it and Africa Alive don't need it for them anymore (it was a 'catch up' enclosure so the keepers could give the sheep medicine and hoof trims, etc,) however nothing has really come from it.
Just thought you might like to know! I'm getting excited about their arrival!

yes, bristol zoo is very small and is ulikely to house another hoofstock species
It was Blackpool Zoo that they went to.

But Blackpool doesn`t have any Blesbok at least they didin`t when I visited in October,and if they did get them I don`t know where they would put them as they don`t have any empty paddock space!
