There's a new turkey vulture exhibit across from the alligators. If I remember correctly, I was told during my internship he cannot fly. If you happen to visit and see limited perching opportunities that's why.

There's also a new species in the rainforest dome: Mariana fruit doves; a near-threatened species with a decreasing population. There are now 19 species of birds in the aviary, and the website has been updated to include each one. I'll probably provide an updated species list later this summer, as the last one on ZooChat was in 2016/17, and many changes have happened since then.
 
Is anyone here familiar with the management of this facility? I have noticed that they almost constantly have jobs being posted, and they seem to struggle to find people to fill those vacancies. Before they seem to fill current positions, more positions are up.

So I currently work here, but I can't really explain the constant job postings. We just went through an AZA inspection at the end of May, and I'm sure many supervisors prioritized other tasks during/before their arrival. The hiring process does take a while (at least it did for me). The application closed at the end of March, and I wasn't officially hired until roughly a month later. I don't know the specific reasons for the current positions on the website, but most are filled after it's been posted on the website.

As I previously stated in my last post, I work at this zoo (and in Australian Adventure). I noticed this too back in April but never shared it because they weren't at the zoo then. The devils were part of a recent import from Tasmania. All of the t-devils are currently quarantined at the Toledo Zoo. So they aren't here yet, but it should be very soon! I don't know specifics on when they will be on exhibit, as they've only been in quarantine for a few days. I will share more information on their arrival once I learn more (if I'm allowed to).

Congratulations on your employment there! It is an interesting zoo, I just happened to notice that jobs were being posted a lot. I'd consider working there once I graduate, the jobs there seem nice!

On May 10th, it was announced that the zoo transferred (7.1) San Clemente Island goats to the Rolling Hills Zoo in Kansas.

On March 7th, it was announced that the zoo acquired a (1.0) Oriental white-eye from the Los Angeles Zoo in California.

On August 22nd, the zoo announced they acquired 2 red-tailed monkeys named Naki and Wham which are on display in the Allen's swamp monkey exhibit.
