It hasn't been the best, but they were definitely still producing chicks. I saw two or three juveniles on my last visit. They didn't make it clear if they expected more hatches this year. They did, however, state they have the #1 lesser flamingo breeding program in the world.
 
Two male springbok have gone on exhibit in the same habitat as Lesser Kudu. :)
 
That's not good :(. They were supposed to have broken ground on the new elephant and Savanna areas by now, but I'm not sure if they have. They've also announced next to no details about these areas. As it stands their elephant management is pretty crappy. They were already full with five elephants, and then had two babies...
 
One thing that always flusters me is how the Fort Worth Zoo acts like they have a prestigious elephant program when in my opinion they have a subpar one. They're exhibit is a crappy pit with no immersion yet I've seen it in print referred to by them as one of the best in the country. Part of me expects the Fort Worth Zoo's Serengeti exhibit to be loathed by zoochatters on a level on part with Elephant Odyssey.
 
The zoo considers the Serengeti exhibit and Elephant areas to be separate. According to the zoo's master plan, the elephants will have access to the current Serengeti area via a bridge, after a new Serengeti area is created. I feel it'll still be a crappy area, but better than before, no doubt. On their map, they have a section praising themselves, with something along the lines of "best exhibits, unforgettable experience, etc." with a proud photo of an elephant.
 
Congratulations to our ectotherms team for hatching the Zoo’s 50th critically endangered Pan’s box turtle! The Zoo has a long history of success with this Chinese species, producing more than 50 since 2006! Although the hatchlings will be temporarily housed in the MOLA Nursery, the adults are not on exhibit because breeding this critically endangered species is our priority. The adults are housed year-round in a secure outdoor area in order for them to experience natural seasonal cycles, including the mild Texas winters.

Can anyone help me with the bonobo group here? Currently I have five males (Kevin, Victor, Andy, Makolo and Kabili) and five females (Johari, Mchumba, Lucy, Layla and Malela); am I missing anyone or is this correct?

A list of much-needed improvements! Fantastic that jaguars, elephants, lions, and hippos are all getting new exhibits; they certainly need it most!

Phase three, Hunters of Africa and Asian Predators, comes in 2022 with cascading waterfalls and pools surrounded by exhibits that house wild dogs and large cats including tigers and leopards. The clouded leopard and the African leopard, new species for the zoo, will be introduced then.

Hopefully there will be some new antelope species featured in the giraffe exhibit but i agree as far as new exhibits.
