Hi!

I'm doing a report on the gorillas at the Fort Worth Zoo. I'm in need of background information, particularly about Ramses. Also, I didn't see how they got the food into the enclosures for the public feddings. Any help would be awesome!

Thanks!!

I have no idea about fort worth zoo or its gorillas but welcome to the forum - i'm sure someone will know!

I'm the same as redpanda, Welcome to zoochat hope you have an awesome time here,

Thanks anyways! I'm a bit busy with the project right now, but this site seems really neat. I know my family and I will have alot of fun...

oh cool your family is into animals as well, your very lucky. I wish my family cared about animals.. :)

I'm taking a Physical Anthropology course with an assigned research paper comparing wild primates to a non-human primate of our choice (one we could actually observe). I chose Ramses, a beautiful western lowland silverback gorilla at the Fort Worth Zoo. I was able to find his birth date and place, but not alot of personal information on him, such as temperment, food preferences, etc. Their website said it would take several weeks to receive answers from the staff. Being the procrastinator that I am, I don't have that kind of time. But I think I've gathered enough to write a decent paper. I'll post it if anyone actually wants to read it :) I'm a rambler, but there should be a few interesting bits of info in there.
All in all, the experiance was fun. I went to the zoo by myself for the first time. It was a great time. I was really able to see the animals. As my two daughters get older, I hope to be able to spend alot of time at all the fantastic zoos out there...

i would go to the zoo, and ask for the information, the zookeepers would be happy to help you, i am sure. ask the keeper itself or go to the office.
