After noticing more timeouts in the charts at the same time as yesterday, I thought it worth investigating what scheduled tasks were running at that time to see if one of them was causing the slowdowns.
Turns out that with the move to a new server, the backup times got reset back to their defaults (3am Sydney time!), which is a very busy time on the site.
I've changed the backup time to the same we were using previously: 3pm Sydney time, which is around the quietest period on the site. Hopefully that will improve things for most people, especially those in the US and Europe.
