On June 9th, it was reported that one of the facility's giraffes picked up a 2-year-old girl before dropping her seconds later. Neither the girl nor the giraffe were injured, and Fossil Rim updated their rules, no longer allowing visitors to ride in truck beds, as of June 6th, 2024.
