Zoo Frankfurt Frankfurt Zoo

This is the article I was referring to, from Duke, about the initial difficulties of breeding from captive-born males. It is from 2006, I didn't realise that it was so long ago. It would seem that the problem has now been surmounted.

Thank you. An interesting read and it really illustrates how quickly a captive breeding program can be turned around with a little research.

The 2 Black Rhinos which should send back to Africa, will stay at Frankfurt ! Transport-costs have become much more expensive so it has been dicided to keep male Kalusho ( 28 ) and female Tsororo ( 27 ) at Frankfurt !

Good to find out after just returning thinking best get a shift on to see them! Still, had a really good time. Construction meant that [I think] the bears were off-limits and I think some birds up by the bird house may have been. Kiwis were off-show so didn't see them, however the Ploughshare tortoise are on-show near the viewing window of the kiwi breeding area/tree-kangaroo. Pictures to follow from my trip tomorrow.
